Introduction – It’s all About the Stats

You think we trained? You bet we did, with about over 9,000 cumulative training miles logged in only 8 months. In addition we raised over $13,000 for the San Francisco AIDs Foundation.

The stat chart below was the core of our bragging rights routine. Mo won out for cumalitive training mileage, but as Ed points out he won for most miles ridden in the last 3 months before the ride (not that I ever presented that as a separate stat). Mike on the other hand, would say "this is a ride, not a race, why are you bringing me into this?". Why? Because we knew Mike. Inside he wanted to ride as many miles as we did. If no one was available to ride with him, Mike would go ride anyways! Gary was able to use the tool to gauge his training accordingly. However, he (as well as the rest of the crew) probably thought of it as their mother nagging them to get their asses on the saddle and train!

The chart belows shows how we were able to increase our mileage over time. February showed a dip, for that was really the only month it rained. Also, April was a tough month for it was full of vacations.
